Cohen Forman Barone, LLP Receive Accolades For Crim-Imm Seminar At New York Law School

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) held what one participant described as “the best CLE I ever attended” at New York Law School on November 2, 2015. David Cohen, of Cohen Forman Barone, was the exclusive New York criminal attorney sitting on the four-member panel; which was composed to help forge practical solutions and creative dialogue between criminal and immigration attorneys when representing non-United States citizens.

Working with a hypothetical problem the panelists lectured, discussed and creatively found answers to problems that lawyers face when representing non-citizens. Moderator and chairperson of AILA’s New York Immigration and Customs Enforcement committee, Cory Forman, skillfully brought out issues that immigration and criminal attorneys alike have been struggling with since the Padilla decision.

The immigration attorneys on the panel deserve a tremendous amount of credit for their ability to integrate the concerns of the criminal bar as well as offer practical considerations and solutions for the criminal and immigration practitioner alike.
